Picket Line Banana Flapjacks

7 Jul

We baked these banana flapjacks to take out with us on the picket lines when 4 education and public sector unions went out on strike over pension reforms. These flapjacks are easily made in bulk and are a tasty way of showing solidarity.

Ingredients: 150g vegan margarine, 150g light brown sugar, 4 tbsp of golden syrup, 350g of porridge oats, 4 mashed bananas.

Melt margarine, sugar and syrup in a pan, then mix in the other ingredients. Pour into a baking tray and bake for about half an hour. Mark into pieces while hot then wait to cool before removing from tin.

Hi. Before I tried this I thought it might be too wet. I was proved right as it ends up as a cake more flapjack. From my experience you’ll need to add an extra 100g of oats. Plus, you haven’t put an oven temperature for the novices out there.
    Keep up the good work
